# France 2026: The Start of Our Story

**Tomorrow, we're off to France — and this time, we're taking you with us.**

We've been to France before. We've travelled as a family before. We've had holidays, adventures, stressful journeys, amazing days and plenty of those moments that you know you'll laugh about eventually.

But this trip is a little different.

Because this time, we're starting something new.

**This is the first ever blog post on The Keen Family.**

## Why now?

We've talked for a while about creating somewhere to document our family adventures.

Not just the perfect holiday photos.

Not just the places that look amazing on Instagram.

But the reality of travelling as a family of eight.

The planning.

The packing.

The arguments.

The excitement.

The *"has everyone got their passport?"* moments.

The *"why did we bring this much stuff?"* moments.

And, hopefully, all of the memories in between.

With six children, family life is rarely quiet and it's almost never completely predictable. But that's what makes it ours.

And we've realised that some of the best memories aren't necessarily the big things.

Sometimes they're the ridiculous things that happen along the way.

The conversations in the car.

The things the kids say.

The unexpected places we discover.

The days that don't go to plan.

And the moments when we all stop and think, **"This is pretty special."**

## So why start with France?

Well... because we're going to France tomorrow!

It seemed like as good a place as any to start.

We've got plans, we've got places we'd like to visit and we've got a very long list of things we need to remember before we leave.

Whether all of those plans survive contact with six children remains to be seen.

We've travelled before, so we know that the reality of a family holiday isn't always quite as smooth as the brochure makes it look.

But that's part of the fun.

This time we're going to try to capture it all.

## Eight people. One adventure.

There are eight of us.

Six children.

One family.

And, depending on how much luggage we end up taking, probably not enough space in the car.

Tomorrow we'll be setting off for another family adventure in France, and we'll be sharing it here as we go.

We'll show you where we visit, what we get up to, the places we love, the things that don't quite work and everything else that happens along the way.

Hopefully, we'll also give you a little insight into what travelling and having adventures as a big family is actually like.

Because family travel doesn't have to be perfect.

Sometimes it just needs to happen.

## And this is where the blog begins...

So, welcome to **The Keen Family**.

This isn't our first family adventure.

It's just the first one we're properly documenting here.

We're hoping this blog becomes a place where we can look back over the years and remember all the places we've been, the things we've done and, most importantly, the time we've spent together.

And if other families enjoy following along, pick up a few ideas, or simply recognise the chaos in their own lives, then even better.

Tomorrow the adventure starts again.
